You wouldn't shoot tacklebox's yard deer would you? Surely you're waiting for a big boy to come by.

Just had a spike move through. Thought it was a doe until he got close enough to see the 3-4" spikes.

He was a bit on edge. He was muzzling in the acorns and got to near the blood trail of the doe I shot. He stepped on a branch and the other end teetered up through the leaves in front of him, dang near came unglued.

Loggers are way up front, so may have lucked out.

This is the first time ive felt pretty cold when hunting. Temps are supposed to drop bigtime today. Overnights around 20, daytime highs around freezing, and some light snow.

So let's see how this morning went. First string of decoys came loose this morning, my buddy walks in the creek that's only supposed to be shin deep to get them and promptly steps off a ledge into waist deep water. He was wearing knee high boots. Lol.

No ducks. Barely anything alive and moving.

We head back to the truck to find a flat tire. Spend 15 minutes trying to get the spare off a rusted mount. Finally go to mount it and it doesn't fit. 16" spare for a truck with 17" wheels. Wtf. He got the truck used so idk what happened.

We were luckily able to get the landowner to come out and take the tire and plug it and be on our way in a reasonable amount of time.

    So that's duck hunting lol
