Good luck Matt! I had to deal with 15-20 mph winds yesterday...they lulled me to sleep until a big 10 pointer slipped by at 20 yards and I couldn't get off a shot. :(

    Where are you hunting?

Looks like the high pressure system finally moved in. Winds have calmed dramatically, which makes me wonder.

Will bucks cruise more with calm winds than steady or gusting? Would seem like they'd have to work a little harder with calm winds

You guys complaining about 20mph winds crack me up, that's a light breeze here. Let me know how ya like a 20 ft stand in 40-50 mph wind. lol

Knowing you have 150+ giants running around would make dealing with the winds a little easier? All in the mind. :)

Pull your couch up to the back door and drill him, then you can say you killed one from the couch....

I don't mind the wind, just didn't dress for triple the forecasted wind speeds. I'm good now, but was quite chilly a couple hours ago.

Calm winds in the afternoon is a rarity for me, curious to see how it plays out. Going to hit the rattle bag in a few

Happens to me all the time when I am sitting in my blind, have a tree line that runs around the entire bean field and Ill be scanning and see a bush or something move from the wind, and i know its a bush, but of course i have to look and make sure.

I get that with large clumps of leaves as the sun filters through at different angles. Add a bit of wind and instant skip a beat.

Squirrels ar doing the soul train line at the moment. I'm becoming immune to the ruffle of leaves and it's going to bite me.

After this mornings action I had high hopes. Wish I could see into the bedding area but too many leaves yet.

Movement directly in front of me ~100 yards (straight up wind) binos up, heart races.....

Another hunter, and he climbed a tree. So yeah.... here's to hoping the deer come from downwind without smelling both of us.

Deer aren't moving as much as I would have expected
Had small 6 and forky by earlier
Watch big 9 run a doe back and forth in a thicket
Small spike walked all the way across the woods just looking around
Had a shooter at 50 yards but wouldn't come closer

Trying a new spot. A thicket were they cross the road. Homeowner is cleaning his garage 200 yards away but I can hear everything. Hopefully the deer are used to it here.
