I just got back in the stand from cutting a small tree out of my way. The kicker is that while I was down there at 11:00, a 145" 9 point came by. He literally stopped 10 yards away from me and itched himself, then kept on going. I could have easily shot him, but he is getting the pass this year.

Right now the wind doesn't seem to be affecting the movement by me. It's been pretty breezy the last week and deer have been moving. The most action seems to be between 830-noon

I couldn't imagine passing a 145, amazing how they can pick off the slightest movement while up 15-20 feet yet walk right up on you while not exactly being stealthy.

Matt????? Did you arrow something? Spill the beans brother, I am pumped!

I used some farm hands as cover to move into the bedding area and set up. I will hunt here today and Mon morning due to West winds. Hope that 10 pt shows up again.

Kinda bummed. Just had a muzzleloader hunter walk up on me. Oh well the risk you take when hunting public land. :(

I'll be back at it in the morning. Hoping the loggers don't work Sundays. Anxious to pull my cards, the doe from yesterday should be on both of them. One should have the kill shot and the other should have her coming in, bolting after the shot and being drug out.

Tuesday is looking good as well, high if 34-36! That should have them moving hopefully

Still on cloud nine. No monster, but great redemption from yesterday.

Regrouped and back at it. There are NO acorns at all in Athens this year and it has screwed our go to valley up bad. So we found apple trees and a really nice funnel full of scrapes. Funnel tonight apples in the a.m.
