My luck continues. Property to the west has decided to bring a tractor in his woods and cut a few trees or something. Thought they were about to chisel plow the fields until it got closer and the chainsaws started up.

About to call it a season, nothing going right this year.

Just moved to another stand and already had 3 does come by but something spooked them. Wind is blowing in every direction so might have smelled me.

Don't give up, I haven't had great luck this year either but there is still plenty of time left. Just keep hunting hard and eventually it will pay off.

Nothing really happening here, hunting buddy shot an old but not so big buck at 7, said the shot looked like a gut shot. We'll probably start looking around 1/2.

Neighbors just went back up. Actually had a spike/fork sneak in on me. Good thing too, he went up through the overgrowth of what was cleared last spring, where I missed the big buck last year. It's tall! Couldn't see anything but weeds paring and shaking as he went through it. Thought it was shorter, good info.

Just had two does coming in, then the chainsaw started up and spooked them. Looks like they only took the tractor up. Think this is rock bottom, only one way to go from here.

Finally got the videos from trail cam to play, had a medium 8 point come through 2 hours before igot here.

Beside myself...chip shot at 18yds and I swung and missed on this guy. Sat for over an hour staring at my arrow wondering how I missed. Got down to get it and saw the branch it hit. Unbelievable. If history has a way of repeating itself, I usually only get one or two shots on GOOD deer, so that may be it for the year for me.

The good news is he had NO idea what happened and walked away.

Switching stands before I do a swan dive. They're actually logging the land, they're hunters too. Who in their right mind hunts and logs their land in November?

I'm ready for spring already, had a few decent bucks on camera yesterday too.
