Well I decided to ditch the blind and head to the 20ft ladder. Jumped the small fork horn I see almost every hunt, was almost on top of him when he jumped. I have seen and had so many chances at that deer it is not even funny. I would say tress are still holding about 50% of their leaves, but the ground is covered, only they are all wet, so not gonna be much noise made.

I had a slow start to the morning but things heated up about 8:30. High 120's to 130 10 point was walking a trail nose to the ground 50 some yards away. I threw the binoculars on him to see his size as he looked different then any buck I've had on camera so far. Sure enough he was a 10. We haven't had a 10 on camera yet this year. I grunted and brought him In to 15 or so yards. I let him pass but man I was tempted. If It wasn't for goofy horn (the target buck I'm after) he would've gotten an arrow. Good size deer too. 4 year old or older. He had a sway back look to him. Huge front end.

I also saw a spike this morning. Smallest buck body wise that I've ever saw. If he makes 85 to 90 pounds dressed he's lucky. He was following a doe. I thought for sure he was her fawn until I saw his spikes.

Good luck everyone!! These live threads are allot of fun!!

Moved to my property. Nothing was happening at the public spot. I'm ready to climb into a tree, but for now I'm sitting in my ground blind. Stopped at cabelas and bought a new HSS safety harness. My wife ran across that article about the hunter who fell, and although I wear a harness she told me to go buy a better one.

    Shopping at cabelas? No problem.

Unfortunately the only racks I've seen so far belonged to stuffed whitetail inside the store.

But I'm not going in until dark today.

Good luck to everyone on their afternoon hunt

Just had a little spike wander through, was not really interested in anything. Did not respond to a grunt at all. He stopped on a snort/wheeze but then went on about his business.
