    Field N Stream, you suck!

Barring a miracle I'm going to hit 2 years without a deer with the bow. 11/5/11 was my last.

    On second thought, I suck!

Had an eventful morning. Had a buck chase a doe into some thick cover but couldn't see his head gear. Rut is slowly ramping up.

I'm going to hunt a "morning" stand tonight. Haven't seen a thing from it in the mornings so it's time for a change.

It's not great for a south wind but none of my setups are good for a south wind...This one will send my wind 30 ft over the deer so I should be alright.

I'm about to admit defeat. Actually considering canceling my upcoming vacation tomorrow. Thinking 3 day weekends will probably be sufficient, lack of movement and unworldly thick timber will probably burn me out trying to sit 10 straight days. A bit dejecting

Just had a lone turkey come through. Was a bit odd seeing it solo, think it seen me take the bow off the hanger. Went down a ditch and up the other side rather than using the 4 wheeler path. Never had a clear shot. Now if the deer would do some mid day movement.

On stand after sitting the morning out to be with the kids and wife at the cabin. They have to go home today so I figured if hang with them. Sitting in rut specific spot. Have not bed. Here since June. It's a thick hemlock edge. I wish I would of trimmed more but it's good enough.

I'll need to be on the lookout and won't be able post much on this sit. Can't see very far and need to be ready and on the look out

Is this a good sign when you look down and see this?

I just had a small bird land right next to me and it looks like it had a Michigan helmet on. Yellow wing marking ms on its head. Never saw a bird like that. It was gone before I could snap a photo
