Video tape that would ya, I need a good laugh after the last few days I have had hunting.

 

Technically in OH I have killed zero, so I have a clean slate. Looking forward to a hot shower, beer, food, sleep, repeat.

 

Last minute decision. In street clothes, but I'm in a blind with good wind. Figure WTH.

 

Do you normally have few sightings? Your season sounds eerily like mine, but I normally see 5-7 a sit not in a month.

I'm waiting to read your rut is on post(probably not as much as you are to write it), I'm still not sure pushing my vacation back a week is going to help. I still think it will take off about mid-week, more like wishing, but this can't last forever.

I'm almost to the point of its brown its down for tomorrow, not used to this.

 

Well last 45 mins, time to put the phone down and pay attention.

Up until October, I was getting 1000 pictures between 3 cams every 2 weeks. October hit, I'm not even getting 200 between the 3. The only cam that has really gotten anything good is on a cut bean field, and it's all been at night except for Thursday when one of my shooters strolled by at last light. I have seen deer every sit, just nothing like I thought I would considering the amount of pictures I got over the summer.

 

That's a wrap. back at it Monday.

 

Well what started out a good hunt went to hell in about 5 seconds. Guess that happens when somebody that has no idea where they are walks in front of your stand then proceeds to argue that your in the wrong spot.

 

Deer are moving like I've never seen tonght (after dark). Just got back from dinner and in one mile on my road we saw two big groups of does, each group had at least 10 does a peice. Saw a couple 1.5 yr old bucks cruising along the sides of my road and the field behind the house lit up with more eyes than I can count when I went out to close the chickens.

Why on earth all this nocturnal movement? I've hunted hard and in some of my best spots that always produce this past week, without seeing a single deer.

 

It's not time yet.......Field and Stream's best days to hunt ....one is tomorrow ...

 

Between me amd 2 buddies we saw 9 deer. 4 bucks 5 does. To 130+ 8s and I saw a 100 8. Good night in south eastern Iowa. Rut is on here

Had a decent night
Saw 4 bucks in last hour and passed on a 130 8pt
Taking tomorrow to duck hunt with a good buddy and then back at on Monday for 8 days straight

Why???

 

Well, I think I am gonna take tomorrow off and recharge my batteries. Seen when I was leaving that the people that live next to the property I hunt is having a big bonfire/party tonight, so figure tomorrow is gonna suck after people being up all night making noise. Ill take the day and spend with the wife, and then get back out monday-friday, then back to work on saturday. Good luck to any one that goes out tomorrow.

 

I have deer in camera pretty often. Do you think I could see one in person?

Silver lining is I have till Friday.

My phone died so I wasn't able to do any updates from the stand. Well, had a pretty good hunt. Saw a spike early in the afternoon that I grunted into about 25 yards- which was pretty cool. Around 6:30 had a doe and a fawn come in. Took a shot on the doe about 30 yards and she jumped the string like nobody's business. Ended up missing about an inch over her back.

 

You obviously didn't read the "phone charger for stand" thread...

 

I did and the rav power pack is awesome. It charges my phone and my gopro if needed.
