I’m up and in the shade, Acorns dropping behind me and clover in front. Deer been hitting the water hole and scrape about every night. Good luck anyone that’s out!
I'll be out in about another hour. I'm going to a public spot I scouted in the early summer. I haven't hunted public in about 20yrs so this could get interesting. Good luck to you as well. Sent from my SM-N975U1 using Tapatalk
My first post on this thread of the year. In a tree in Maine, first sit, general archery season opened today.
I got down. No sign in the area I was hunting minus coyote tracks. I spent 4 hrs kayaking and walking. I picked up some fresh tracks and followed them for a half mile. I eventually found a sandy elevation change that cut up through some flat, monotonous terrain. It's not on the map. Picked up varying rub sizes then started picking up an angry buck whose rubs came up to my lower chest and he also snapped several saplings. Prepped a tree and left. Man it's hot. Also picked up a cam I had out on one side of the island and it was decent and had two doe groups consistently using the cutover. I will wait to hunt that spot until the time is right. Below is the path that buck took this morning. I cut his fresh tracks and crap.
@Suncrest08 He reminds me of one i had encounters with in the past. I let him go because it was a farm with high restrictions. When we got this pic the farm owner said “you should have shot him” haha. Damned if i do damned if i dont.
Up in a tree for the evening hunt. Looking for another doe or 2. My shot this morning was back...glad I'm shooting the 2 inch G5 megameat. I hope you liked the blood pics!
I think this may be a two year old. If he is, he is looking pretty darn good. I am not sure what all that low lying green vegetation is but they have been eating the hell out of it.
