Well...I just had the phrase "caught with your pants down" come to fruition. Climbed down, decided to check a camera and refresh a scrape...mid stream a doe and her two fawns come out about 15yds away and just stare at me for what seemed like eternity. It felt wrong. Lol
Likes all around Was going out where I was last night but there was a major frig issue. We just now finished dinner. Thank God son came by and was able to help out. Cross fingers finally dropped from 44 to 43 1300.00 piece of crap. As with many appliance now days. So I went down my tree line path and sure enough 4 doe ,but tonight less than 100 ft from my blind , in shooting range...lol same ole , same ole
Sat four hours this evening and saw only one mature doe, by herself, which kind of surprised me. Had her at 22yrds, but she's buck bait come the rut. Got good video of her though.
I’m up and will be headed out the door in about 15 minutes. It’s a nice, cool morning at 47 degrees. Coldest it’s been this year by far. It should be a good morning but I don’t have the best spots here.
I'm up and it is still and cold out there 39. I won't be out though, had other plans. The frig dropped to 37 finally. One worry off my table. When son came over last night he brought pics of Oct 1 kills. His work buddy got a 190# bruiser high tined 8pt. Then another guy took an absolute MONSTER 14+ pt down not far from our camp. OCT1 was a great day for many.
Good luck out there this morning! I’m back to work today and tomorrow, then I’ll be back at it Saturday
Guy at work told me when we got that weather yesterday morning that he had more movement on his cameras than he had in two weeks combined.
