Bumped an unknown deer on my hike in. Set up in the oak flats. Nice to be in the stand and not camping in my house.
I decided to get back in a tree so I’m set up for the afternoon on a new property. This property borders mine and while I’ve never hunted it I’ve seen a lot of deer travel through here. This isn’t the new 560 acres - I haven’t been there yet. This is a 320 acre parcel that a guy bought and he gave me permission to hunt it around my place. I’ve yet to get a daylight deer pic and I still haven’t seen a single doe from the stand so my hopes aren’t high.
The leaves are bone dry and there is no wind. I’d love to hear a deer coming. When it’s like this I can almost sit with my eyes closed and listen. Almost.
Your in a doe contest! But good call, will be worth it. Just a practice draw for whats going to happen! Sent from my SM-S901U using Tapatalk
Plenty of light, still time. I had the same thing last night, all the deer ended up coming back to me before dark. Sent from my SM-S901U using Tapatalk
Ok, then I think you've gotten close to his bedding area. Hopefully, he comes back around. Otherwise, you got some good intel.
While I have been keeping the scorecard updated I haven’t been posting. Congratulations to @Holt, @Slugger, @arrowflinger1 and @hunterman927 on the does. Great work guys!
Beautiful evening even with helicopters flying around. First time in this spot and really like it. From the stand it's a text book location for hill deer and the sign supports my feelings.
This doe is lighting the fires of hell in me, she leaves and comes back this is 4x im about to kill her
4” spike just walked right under me. He stopped and sniffed the small limbs I had cut. I was afraid he would blow out but he walked away.
thus is early season, Ive had to get down before because they were so bad in early archery .... I wear contacts and those things are like Kamikaze's going for the eyes ....
Two nice does just passed 75yds away right under the tree I sat in last year...I see another group making their way through the beans to me.
