You're fortunate to have options with different wind directions. With my only (no good spot for another) natural ground blind in the tight funnel I'm hunting, my only smart option is to stay out until I get the right wind. We've been getting E/NE winds for the better part of two weeks now, and I have to be honest, I've hunted there despite having the right wind a few days. Best wind is out of the south, which we don't get very often. This could account for me not seeing the deer I'd expected to see, or a combination of that and the crappy weather we've had are working together against me. I'll be back in on Thursday when the winds will be light and variable. It sucks, because as the pre-rut/rut approches, at some point, I'll have to sit regardless of wind, again. I have no other options in this spot, which really is a good location. The buck I'm after comes either from the east, or from the west. Never from north or south, because of the geography. It's a crap shoot if I sit with anything other than south winds. One thing I do have going for me is time. I can hunt on any given day I choose, so I can be picky for a while yet.
Best of luck! Ohio has some big boys. You're in the spot where you got the pics of that buck yesterday, right? Looks like the same spot.
Yes hoping for one of those 2 shooters to come by. Rain just quit. Wind is good so far. lol **** attempt this morning to hunt. Was accessing a ditch to tree got about 10 yards and step in sink hole went straight down all the way to hip and bow went down and string came off. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Ya I checked the week and those are whats suppose to happen. My best for tomorrow night will be a e or se wind if they come the usualy direction. That would be a cross wind for me. If not I'll get busted if winds are brisk. Though still right now. Also the coyotes woke me up last night from guess where I'm hoping to see deer tonight if not....I know why.
Oh sanctuary, they have been driving the line every afternoon kids screaming at the top of their lungs. They can watch their entire field next to us from their deck. Think they've seen a big buck...LOL they can also see from their trail the blind I built in the garden 50 yrds away from the line. What can you do but laugh.....well shoot a monster and drive up there buck in Gator bed to brag,God willing.
Smart gals....never left the alfalfa they were out very early so I set up to observe. Take note guys, there is a grassy finger 15 yards out into field. A tree fell after field was planted early spring. Farmer harvested around it. 2 at a time they slowly stood cleaned then stepped into field to eat. Theres a pond or two a few hundred feet above them. No need to travel down to our streams. Either side is where the coyote's den on our nieghbors.
picked a different stand this evening; I chose poorly- nothing tonight, on a whim hit one of my cell cam's 'on demand' pic at about 6:30 at the same stand I sat this AM, of course there's two bucks tussling: one on the left is just a forkie, but the other one looks bigger. Maybe not shooter, but...at least I would have been entertained. Oh well. Probably no more hunting for me until Oct 24, then it's 10 days straight.
Let’s gooooo it’s finally deer season, good luck and stay safe killers! Showered, loading the truck and rolling out!
