    Let’s see some blood today!!

from a deer that you killed. I know someone would have put up a pic of a thumb wound.

    Shoot straight lady’s and gents.

Had a deer at 27yds at first light. Was definitely some form of slick head, but could not tell if it was a Doe, Spike or Button. Since it came in by itself, I was not going to chance my Buck tag on it. It also only gave me a quartering towards shot at low light. So I passed. Hopefully more stop by over the next 2hrs.

It's amazingly slow out here. Crescent moon, been raining alot. You would think that during the rain breaks the deer would move. I'm in an oak flat with acorns dropping everywhere.Maybe preassure from the hurricane has them off.

This is the worst work/hunt schedule I've ever had. Haha. I promise you this will be the last season I deal with it. Life is too short. Pizza delivery driver here I come!

Took today off and back at elk camp. Went after the same bull from last weekend yesterday evening, he is still on the same knob. He was sounding off all on his own and I slipped in without calling. I set up about 60 yards from the timber the bed in and waited. I was close but not quite enough. The herd got up to feed and I saw a cow and calf pop out of the timber about 60 yards from me, but they were the edge of the herd. They moved doen through a strip of timber and away from me. Still haven’t laid eyes on the bull. He sounded off several times.

Currently sitting in the dark waiting for daylight. Bull has bugled 3 times so far. My plan is to slip into their bedding area before they get there and wait for them. Wind willing that is.
Another half hour to shooting light. Good luck to everyone this morning.

Just wait until your wife gets her next bonus after another stellar coaching season, then you retire to be a redneck trophy husband.

Pretty sure you need a highly successful, career driven wife combined with the humility to happily let her make considerably more money than you. After that, it is just a matter of staying in decent shape, unless you happen to be married to the extremely rare woman who is not lying when she says she finds Dad Bod attractive.

Powers out, gusts to about 50 and still raining after about 6" of rain. 'Working' until the work laptop battery is dead. Deer are likely bedded for the day, but may be up this evening if it blows through quick enough. The only blood yall can expect from me today is if we have trees/limbs down.

Keep Ridgerunner3 in mind as he's probably getting the effects of Helene worse than we are...three lower Appalachians are gonna be in bad shape.

She did land a kid who TN had offered. Think she may help rebounding?

Appears to have good vertical. Also may be useful for a tipoff/jump ball...

No deer shot at this morning. Gonna try a ground hunt this afternoon. Doe or Buck still on the table. Just the possible Doe at shooting time and the basket 8 observed. Hopefully action picks up a little.
