I haven’t shot one since 2019. That changes this year. Walked into Scheels today “just to look” at mobile stands. $500 later and I’m home with my new semi-mobile XOP Ion and 4 pack of X2 sticks. I like a large platform and pretty much just plan to use it around the back 40 so the extra 4lbs the stand weighs isn’t a big deal. Crazy how expensive everything is. Outside of my First Lite clothing I realized I don’t spend money on gear. Haven’t bought really anything in years. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
It just turned into a pretty good day for me. I was loading my ebike getting ready to head to Arkansas tomorrow when a neighbor stopped by to chat. I’d met him before and I guess I made a good impression. He said, “You bow hunt, right?” After I said yes, he told me I could hunt the property he is the caretaker of. Some guy in New England somewhere owns it and my neighbor takes care of it and controls access. It’s 560 acres of hardwood forest with good terrain, a year-round stream, no-one bow hunts it and it’s less than a quarter mile from my house to the gate. My neighbor, his Dad and his kids gun hunt it but that’s not a problem. When I get back from Arkansas he’s going to give me a key to the gate and take me on a tour of the place. I’m actually pretty excited about this. It’s a great looking parcel.
Well I have 4 pages to catch up but I'm in a NJ tree stand. 70 and humid. Not ideal but they will move here, it's a goto kinda spot. Doe or Buck on the menu. Good luck anyone who is out.
I stepped out of my kayak and lost my balance. Slammed my shin. Sat for about 30 seconds holding in a scream of pain....then realized I'll be 50 in a couple months and this is gonna get worse. Sob
Oh yeah, it gets worse brother. Still, no matter how bad it gets you’re still alive and that sure beats the alternative.
I have a house about 80yds behind me, need to be at least 50yds away. I have 300yds of woods in front of me and then a 15acre destination corn field. Should be moving soon.
