This is same WMA where I killed that Smokey Tom last year, on Monday saw another Smokey bird with a beard, maybe a bearded hen or possible a Jake, didnt see it Wed. hopefully it is a Jake and I will be back over there next year looking for him. This was the Wed. flock following the Smokey hen across field, 3 Toms and Jake in tow.
this is two years now I havnt hunted Turkey .. next year I'll put in for the draw where I killed my big Tom several yrs back ... hmmm, I never saw a bird this season when deer hunting, I thought that was strange, as I usually see quite a few as they flock up for the fall/winter ... Indiana is a tad down so far compared to the last two seasons (down around 2 k), at 13,816 right now ... our season ends this Sunday/May 11 https://www.in.gov/dnr/fish-and-wil...d-management/wild-turkey-spring-harvest-data/

Thank you! I hope all the Moms in your live had a great day. I spent my time weeding the garden and mowing the dry areas of my plots. A great day.. I tended hatching chicks last night and found out my moms day gift was hatching as well. 3 Bronse turkey. I am hoping for at least one Tom so I can get future hatching eggs to raise for eating and selling.
