I absolutely love my Tacoma. I put a A.R.E camper shell on the bed, I have to say that was probably one of the best upgrades I can do for my truck. The only regret is I did not wait and get a long bed. Nice truck you have..

It was out in the middle of nowhere and how they got those huge pieces of equipment down there blows my mind. Ripping down trees. The place is gonna be too accessible now and I bet most of it won't be worth a darn to bowhunt. I have 2 more cams out on the primary island I believe he stays on most of the time. Will pull them in June for a look. All I need is one Pic to confirm or deny what I think this buck may be...a giant

This place has a serious coyote problem. I wish I could figure out how to kill them this spring and early summer and I'd do it. It has such great bedding but they are all over the place.

I have baby coyotes on that same cam. I killed one out there with my bow in 2023. I need to kill about a half dozen of them and that place would hold a good buck I just know it.

I don’t know a good way for you to kill a bunch of them. I call to them and manage a couple every year with a gun, trapping could knock a good bit out. But it’s very time consuming.

If I could kill a few of the leaders killed I think it would really help. Or maybe track down their den. This place is 100 acres of flat ground bedding with some swamp wter mixed in that people rarely ever go into to hunt. Those coyotes are all over the place and will decimate the fawns.

Give it a go with some calls and a shot gun. Just get the wind in your favor.

MO. allows rifles for deer, bet they allow for coyotes too.

Hell, here in IL we just got a straight walled cartridge in a single shot rifle for deer acceptance, but could always use any rifle for coyotes all year round except during deer firearm seasons.

Misery is a way friendlier state than Ellannoys.

It's very sad NYS won't allow year around coyote and sadder they banned the coyote " challenges".

Depends on the area what I tote, I use a shotgun for tight spots and a rifle for more open. I was assuming with it being a flat spot with a swamp and bedding it was thick.

Coyote calling success is all in the setup. They will almost always circle downwind of the calling so setup accordingly.
If using a hand held call, setup on the upwind edge side of an opening. Try to have your scent stream going directly through the middle of the opening. The idea is to catch them showing themselves downwind in the opening and you shoot them before they get to the center and wind you.
If you haven't used a hand call to call to coyotes, watch some youtube videos so you have the right cadence for the prey you're trying to mimic. I think the cadence is more important than the prey choice you try to mimic, but make sure the prey sound is something that does live there. For example, I wouldn't choose a jack rabbit call in a spot where there are only cottontails, the tone between the two is quite a bit different.

If you have an electronic call, then you set the call at the very edge of the opening on the upwind side and you sit on the very edge of the downwind side. You're hoping they'll circle downwind of the call and show themselves in the opening between you and the e-caller.
