Anyone finding sheds? Tomorrow its going to warm up from 10 degrees to mid 30s. Snow on ground. Figured it would be a good day to walk a ton.
Found 2 so far, handful of deer on cam holding and some shed. I try to wait till end of Feb to hit it hard, I’m impatient and hate being inside tho haha.
I think I may have jumped a lone antlerless buck the other day. Heck, we had bucks holding until mid-March last year. A lot of them. I am going to walk today. I have a lot of weaknesses, but I have to become more thorough and complete with my scouting. Really hone in on good properties and not just scatter bomb. Ive just been burned so bad in the past with so much hunting pressure, but I am not feeling that in MO.
we have more snow and very cold coming ..... 7 days of teens, single to negative digits at night ... hopefully the stress will get deer dropping that havnt yet ... I may go for drive to the big puddle today just to see if its froze/icberged up yet then come home past my old hunting property for a drive about... the steelhead stream's are all iced up again, sooo, no still steelheadin' for a while .. want to go to BassPro first to try out a pair of Irish Setter Mudtrek 800's and look for some steelhead spinners ... going to put a venison roast in the slow cooker first ...

Walked a long way today. This pic may not do it justice but that is a giant track. Cut them off and on for about a half mile until I ran into what looked like a long term mineral lick. Found a second one just as big about 400 meters away. I'm sure whoever created them hunts them during season. I may use them to my adv and bino them from a distance early season.
Thanks man. I backtracked that large mineral site into bedding. Put a trail cam halfway on the beaten down trail. Im hoping to get a pic of that big buck in there. In fact, Im doing something I've never really done. Post season cams to see what's in those spots late season. Just more intel.
yup, gonna be a while before the weather co-operates for me to get out shed hunting, another storm coming this week too .. snows gonna have to melt down quite a bit before I will go out .. kinda a mini blizzard right now with lake effect and very high winds with white out conditions along the big puddle/I94 & I80 ... temps dropping to 5 tonight(26 now), minus 1 tomorrow night .... at least 7 days of this till a slight warm up .... I'm behind in my after season scouting/shed hunting .. again .....
Yeah, don't work on electrical when you're sick. Nothing burnt, no shocks, not even a breaker tripped....but spending 10 minutes trying to figure out why the light isn't working when you have flipped the wrong switch... Fml
