It was late last night when I got home. I forgot to mention that the buck my son killed last night was his first successful solo hunt. I dropped him off and took my middle son to another spot about 500 yards away. He made an impressive shot with a rifle; 180 yards free hand because the deer came in behind him and he couldn’t get the shooting sticks turned around in time. Drilled it right in the middle of the shoulder and it piled up 30 yards later. Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
Not a lot of activity this morning. I’ve only seen a spike and 3 fawns. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Im up for the evening. Finally the gun seasons have ended yesterday, and back to bow hunting. Sitting the edge of a frozen marsh hoping for something to walk thru. Good luck all
Indiana archery ends this PM .. urban/reduction zones open till Jan. 31st .... look for BIG changes to next season licenses and regulations ....
Good luck man!!! I’m hoping to get down probably Wednesday after this snow tomorrow… Tuesday is calling for winds from [emoji[emoji6][emoji6]]-[emoji[emoji6][emoji6]] so I think I’ll wait for Wednesday
We are back out for the afternoon hunt. Same spots yesterday. Had thunderstorms all morning ahead a big temp drop starting tonight. Weather has cleared out and wind has switched to the NW. Hopefully, deer will be on their feet ahead of the cold front. Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
Nothing for me. Had a fox walk by, non stop barking. Must be fox rut. In the dark I heard a deer stand up in the cattails and walk out, but couldn't see it.
Years ago, before I learned about fox behavior, when I heard them in the woods barking, I thought I was hearing dogs barking. I was like "I'm not going to see anything tonight". Then, when I mentioned it to a buddy, he told me I was hearing fox during their rut. I felt like an azz.
Nothing tonight, that wind gusted 20-35mph the whole time we were out. Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
