Well guys definitely not the way I hoped things would turn out. I tracked for about 100yds on very little blood. I called the CO who hunts the property with me to see if he could come and help me. He got there about an hour later and we looked for probably 2 hours. It went off on another property but then came back onto our property. We were able to follow the blood for another hour but it finally ran out. I'm going to try to go back tomorrow to look some more or look for buzzards but for now I'm worn out. Here's a pic of him from earlier in the year. Sent from my SM-N975U1 using Tapatalk
Bummer Jim, i know you were having a rough season on bucks. Never fun to finish a season that way. Sorry man
Just got set up about 20 minutes ago. I had to go pick up round bales for the horses and didn’t have time to go to the new spots we found so I am setup on my place across the road. I haven’t set foot in here in months.
Sorry to hear Jim, that’s a nice buck. Hopefully you find him tomorrow. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I hate to hear this Jim, but you know that I know how you feel. I’m really hoping you can find him tomorrow.
I didn’t see anything his afternoon but I expected that. I haven’t had a deer on camera in the evening across the road in a long time. I really wanted my gear set up for the morning sit. Yesterday morning there was a group of does there. The morning before there was a group of bucks there. Both groups were there well into daylight. Of course I’m hoping for does tomorrow since I don’t have a buck tag. Tomorrow afternoon I’m going to make a move on a spot that we found on the new place yesterday. You would have to see the cross-crossing trails and the sign there to believe it. Of course, that doesn’t mean they’ll move there now, but it looks so promising.
I’ve been in my stand since a half hour before daylight. I saw three deer way off on the other side of the valley earlier. It’s 33 degrees with a 15 mph north wind. I’d rather hunt in 10 degrees with no wind. I’d be warmer.
