    Ok,
Today is the last hunt of 2024.
Am I sick ? Hell yes. Am I a stuborn old woman? Hell yes.
Do I have a serious angst against our local doe? Hell yes.
No way can I not give getting a danm doe in 2024 pass me by. I probably won't see a deer, but if I'm not out there , I definately won't.
Crossbow set, no stink shower done, hangin poleset up and ready.
Just before I head out I'll dose myself with the cough and decongestant syrup
    Wish my luck

I must be cursed this season.

My son left his quad here for me to use on the new property for the rest of the season so I’ve been using that.

This morning I didn’t see a thing. I was riding out (about a mile from the house) and the quad started sputtering and then it died. I smelled gas so I hopped off and gas was pouring all over the engine and had sprayed all over my camo.

I had to walk all the way home uphill wearing all those layers, get some tools and then I rode the bike back down. The fuel line quick connect going into the injector assembly had come loose. I got it back on and the thing wouldn’t start.

The fuel gauge is faulty, so I thought maybe it had pumped the tank dry. I rode the bike back to the house, bungeed a gas can to my bike and rode back down. I put 2 1/2 gallons in it but it still wouldn’t start.

So, the quad is sitting in the woods a mile from the house until I can find someone who can tow it back to the house for me.

I could risk riding up and down the rocky hill on the bike to keep hunting but I’m thinking this would be a good time to hang the bow up for the year. All the signs are pointing to disaster.

I’m up for one last hunt. Been hunting quite a bit the last few weeks but haven’t been posting since I haven’t seen much at all. Today is the last day of the season. Good luck to those that are out

Yes, sounds like it might be a good idea to quit while you're ahead. It's not like you haven't killed a deer yet.

We didn't see any deer. Caleb saw a spike and some Doe as well as a coyote. Beautiful sunset to end 2024.

Give it a shot or two of starting fluid. Sometimes that’s the only way to get it primed again.

LC. You be the deer driver the rest of the year. Go upwind of bedding areas with that gas smell and dress like this.....

    Ill set up downwind.

4th and 10 with only a few seconds last on the clock for my season (Aka last day of the regular season). Got in the stand early. 5-6 deer came through ~6am. Straight through my new cut shooting lane...came within 15yds, but I couldn't see them in the dark. Smh.

Is just getting light now. I also saw 2 meteors (1 greenish).

Marginal wind for my new shooting lane and skat have my hopes on those deer coming back through before dark.

Good luck if you're out. Happy new year. Still waiting on imminent granddaughter #2...
