Nice work, Brett. I’m about to overheat!!! It’s too warm for the 28th of December!! In the stand and ready to go. Good Luck, everyone!! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I’m in the stand with my daughter. She has her Ruger 77/44 mag she got for Christmas from her grand parents. Antler-less on the menu for her. I’ve got my bow in case a legal buck walks by. Oldest son across the creek from us. 50 deg which is too warm for Dec. Good luck to those that are out
Dang it, managed hunts are a thrill and a PITA!!! Nice weather brings out the people that don’t wanna hunt when it’s cold. Had the same guy on camera in the dark the other night stomping around in here. Oh, I forgot the kid walking his dog that came by. It’s an hour and a half to sun down and you’re just now looking for a place to put your climber??? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
On the public land I hunt, I've found that the managed hunts tend to bring out once a year "hunters", who just don't have a clue. In 22 years of hunting my woods, I've never even thought about taking part in these hunts. It's two single day, once a year shotgun hunts, a week apart. While the entire regular deer season is archery ONLY. Just yesterday, I was in the woods checking one of my cams and talked with a guy who was on his way out from a morning hunt. He told me he's done this shotgun hunt before, and that it's a complete zoo. He mentioned guys shooting 00 buckshot into thickets that you can't even see into. That's all I needed to hear to justify my feelings about this "hunt".
I ended up seeing 6 does and fawns the last 30 minutes of daylight. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
There are a TON of managed hunts in MO especially in the major cities. There are 2 in this park every year, early and late. Each is about 35 days long now. Totally agree with the part-time hunters but it’s strictly archery only. It’s right in town so it’s easy for people to come take a walk or ride their horses. Back at it tomorrow. I just got on stand a few minutes ago. 45 degrees and on and off showers today. About 50 minutes until first light. Good luck if you’re out this morning. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
