I bought this one for my wife about 4 years ago and it has worked fine. It comes with a battery but you will probably want to get a larger capacity one to fit your particular needs. I use and highly recommend Milwaukee. Incredible batteries. Great sweatshirt. Their tools are awesome also.
I've also read good things about Ororo brand. Amazon has a bunch of those. Sent from my SM-N975U1 using Tapatalk
I’ve been hunting in Pa since I was 12. 46 yrs. I couldn’t agree with you more that the antler restriction has worked. Use to see all kinds of 4 pts and spikes back when there was no restrictions, know seeing 7 & 8’s a lot more. Still seeing the spikes and 4 ptrs + the 7 & 8.
that would be a normal buck on the State land I hunt .. 2.5 yr old ..... not many make it past that size, esp during gun seasons ... hell, 1.5 yr olds get hammered ... as Friday they had 103 'deer' killed off the place compared to 78 last season at the same time .. there are always a several older deer killed on the place once gun opens (3.5yr +) .... with my home county(Porter) down with the EHD kill off ( the hunting kill is down 700 when compared to last season YTD), I wonder how many hunters went to the state lands, it was estimated that 80% of the county deer were killed off by EHD ... it was said it will take at least 5 yrs for the county deer population to recover .. btw, our ONE BUCK rule has helped the yearly kill move to an older age class deer ..
I use Milwaukee, mainly because I have a bunch of batteries already. I use the biggest battery possible, so I can have it on full blast the entire morning if needed. Then have a smaller one with me if needed for the afternoon. If you power it down or off midday, it will last all day. I have 4 of them, and they’ve worked great for years. Not just for hunting, I use the heck out of them. As I get older, I can’t imagine being out there sometimes without it. From what I hear, many brands work fine. The key is having plenty of batteries.
I ice skated, involuntarily, all the way to blind. That was fun ...not. I'm not even telling you what was on cam as I sat in pain at house at 3:30 -7 yesterday. I took 3 IBU. before heading out. Also got here an hour earlier than normal. Want to take bets on me seeing....zip ...lol
I admire your restraint. The way my season has gone, I would shoot it. Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
It’s pretty easy to let them go now since I let a couple of 130”+ walk. I will say come January 1st things might change since there will only be 2 weeks left of season.
I'm out for my last sit of the season here in the northern tier of NY - We have 20ish inches of snow so the walk in took a little longer than I expected......Good luck all
Walking back home is going to be a trip for sure! I've been sitting here planning my route back to avoid the drive.
I had every intention of hunting this afternoon but got into cleaning the house and stuff. Next thing I know it's like 2pm. Lol. I guess the wife and deer are happy.
You definitely need one. If you go Milwaukee, the hoodie is probably the best choice for hunting. The vest is the warmest but not silent. It's fine as long as you have a jacket over it, which you usually do anyways. The size and placement of the battery is a bit annoying at first, but you get used to it. Doesn't bother me at all anymore.
So it took a bit to get home because even grassy areas were slick. The towne truck had pounded the hill but it was crazy crossing the road. The only show was ...yep the 3pt.. I've decided it's the hunting Gods razzberry at me. Lol
