If I had a buck tag , as dang cold as it is, he'd be a freezer "pet"..lol
I actually feel bad for him, his buddy the half rack, a spike and bigger 4pt are no longer with him. Someone was filling tags that day I mention the barage of shots I guess. Cam has just one bigger buck now and 8 doe and fawn at night.
Crazy cold this morning I just can't hunt it. Will try again tonight...maybe....my knee is yelling at me.
Finished up a big batch of jerky yesterday. It got hubby's approval with, you need to hide that before the son sees it ....lol

I have Raynaud's syndrome, aka white finger syndrome, and the ONLY way I can hunt when it's cold, or even chilly, is with the use of hand warmers. I've used the GRABBER desposible hand warmers to keep me in the game. They work surprisingly well, and they're pretty cheap.

This really has me curious, hubby has had it for years and now DIL, in her early thirties has it. I know at least 3 others with it. That is actually a lot of ppl in the orbit of just one person. Which begs the question of percentage per hundred or thousands in the population and why?

I was the perfect candidate for it, as I ran chainsaws (vibration) for about 30 years, got frostbite a couple times, and I've smoked for 50 years. It was inevitable.

Well that's it for me. Got everything pulled at the lease and stored away. UTV is off the trailer after 4 months of being a tag along. Cameras are shutdown and the cards erased. August of 2025 won't get here soon enough for me!

Good luck out there to all you die hards! I'll be following along to cheer you on....

I went and pulled my last cam yesterday, no hunt... I normally would still be going out (1pm till dark normally for late season ) but due to work hours and a very early wake up on Sat's for a 7a-7p shift I'm not hunting Fri. pm's as I usually would ... I'd hate to hit a Doe and have to leave it overnight as I'd have no way of getting back the following day .. so I do believe I'm done w/1 buck in the freezer ... good luck to those still at it .. I'll miss these last few late season sits ... que sera sera .. ;0(

On a ground hunt this afternoon. Second to last day of all seasons in VT. In the same general vicinity that I shot my Muzzy Doe. I'm out with the crossbow and all I can take is a Doe. My son and his friend are about 300yds away at the top of the ridge with Muzzys. It's about 24deg and headed to 0 tonight. I won't get back out tomorrow, so this is the end of the VT season for me. Good luck everyone! 20241214_144555.jpg

Stayed out until 11:00 this morning and didn’t see a deer. Back out in a different spot for the afternoon. Good luck!

Walk the long way and didn't find much. I left to cam out there for 2 weeks and only picked up one deer. Lol...good looking younger buck made it through gun season.

In a tree with my daughter. Bumped 2 in front of stand. Son is also hunting. Told him to check some spots since we have fresh snow and sit on fresh sign. I’m 4 pages behind so congrats to those that have killed and good luck to those out hunting.

These are 10 times better than grabbers. Super warm.

Out for does tonight. Snow covered green field at my buddy's potato farm. Wish it was a west wind. 1000012091.jpg
