Nothing for me tonight. Might get out next weekend with the crossbow but honestly I’m spent. Have Ohio
In 10 days I might just take it easy until then.

Some customer at work was saying he saw a giant buck this morning chasing does. He proceeded to talk too much and I figured out where he was hunting probably within 100 yds. I wished him the best of luck... :)

And oh yeah, team 13 with a half rack Dec buck down. That is awesome.

I'll be up in a tree with a gun in about an hour. After a doe or a real nice 12 point that's around the area.

I’m set up in a new spot. This is by far the best looking spot I’ve set up in so far on this new property.

havnt seen a grey fox alive in years, the population has nose dived here in Indiana ... biologists are wanting to know why and have a page up for reporting sightings .. .. back when I trapped (70's) they were the mainstay of my Fox catch, more so than reds, the greys didnt bring as much ..

In the twenty+ years of hunting the 2000 acres that make up the woods I hunt, I have seen a lot of red fox, but on only one occasion have I seen a grey fox, which I think is interesting. Could it be grey fox have different habitat requirements?

All I saw was 3 fawns.

I was eyeing a doe and thought about shooting her....until...put binos on her and saw buttons. Be careful not to shoot a bb this time of year.

I did exactly that one late season a long time ago. I thought I'd shot a big doe.

Not sure about the habitat however I only ever had gray foxes on trail cams at night, never during the daylight hours.

Saw a pile of does Sunday AM, all over the fence or just didn't present a shot. Spent the rest of the day packing up my camper and driving home.

I'm done with my long weekend hunts, might be able to squeeze in a couple-few evening hunts in SW MI, esp. if it snows.

Be checking in periodically, good luck to all you folks still grinding.

little inspiration for you freezer fillers - try kona coffee dry rubbed tendies with arugula salad, feta, roasted beet, balsalmic reduction, side of garlic parmesan mashed taters. You can make all this in less than 30 minutes (thank me later) -

I didn’t see anything at all in the new spot yesterday afternoon, but I expect to see something this morning.

The moon overhead period started about an hour after dark last night but the moon underfoot period starts at first light this morning. Plus mornings just seem to be better here for doe movement.

Here are some pics of this new spot. It’s in a flat valley bottom and it’s thick, just like the rest of the property but I found a good size white oak that is 10 yards off the grassy road. There are trails all through this area.

I need to remember this spot. Kill or no kill today, this is going to be a good spot in the future.

Views are behind me, left, fromt and right. I can only imagine how many deer live on this place.
