Sorry to hear that man. We've all been there so we understand your frustration. Keep your head up. Sent from my SM-N975U1 using Tapatalk
I can't win for losing... hubby called his bad leg was injured (hit and run as a kid) and he needed help with a couple of things as soon as he got home. A nuke would have to drop to keep me home in the morning.
I’m back up for the afternoon sit, again with low expectations. It’s 86 degrees which isn’t that bad, but it certainly isn’t comfortable.
Back at the house. 37 yard shot on a buck. Hit was low. Really low. Arrow disintegrated after shot. Fletching an are almost clean but he was standing in front of a boulder. Found a little blood right after impact.
Yikes man, feel good that you will recover? Hopefully the arrow blow up was just from the rock Sent from my SM-S901U using Tapatalk
I’m back at the house. I’ll try to answer everyone’s questions. At the shot he didn’t kick like they do on a good shot. He kicked a little, ran up a small, steep finger. And bailed off the other side. I heard him crash but he got back up immediately and took off up hill. I couldn’t find any hairs because he was standing on rock. I may go back down in the morning and look. I came back to the house, took off all I didn’t need , grabbed what I did need and headed out. I followed the he blood trail for about 150 yards. It wasn’t good at all. (Yes, I can actually follow a blood trail at night with a green light). This was first blood: Here’s the best blood I found: Here is last blood: Here is the arrow: Practically no blood at all. I’m positive I didn’t kill him. I either just nicked the brisket or I sliced his front leg. It looks like minor muscle blood from a superficial wound. I found where he stumbled. It was really steep and I think he was so freaked out he just tripped over a boulder. I don’t know. I just know that’s the second shot I’ve had this year at what might have been the biggest buck I’ve ever killed and I screwed both shots up.
Yes, the "best blood" pic seemed to have all the flavors; bright red, watery, and dark red. I think I'd wait till morning to look anymore Sent from my SM-N975U1 using Tapatalk
Yes, the blood on the ground was dark, the blood on the branch was bright, and the blood on the leaf looked watery Sent from my SM-N975U1 using Tapatalk
