Driving to the farm. It’s going to be the hottest day we have had for a few weeks getting into the 50s. I would imagine they will be moving more this morning since it’s in the 20s. I guess we will see. Good luck everyone!!

Suiting up and heading out. Opening morning of VT Muzzleloader and I have a Doe tag, so I'll be on a firearm Doe mission for the next 9 days until I kill one. 17degrees, light snow, 6" on the ground already. Good day to be on my feet. Good luck everyone.
Working my way to the mountain. Good wind.a few more minutes to light. Firearm hunt. Nearly went with a lever this morning, but stilling with team Ruger. Chilly 20 degrees, 5kt breeze, hitting me at 10 o'clock. Good luck.
Last weekend of firearms in my area. Some good tracks in the snow. No mercy today or tomorrow. Good luck out there. Last time I was in this spot 1 smaller buck I passed and a decent one I couldn’t get a shot on.

Hey everyone. Need to tap into the goldmine of experience on here My wife and I were out this morning with the muzzleloader. And she shoots a buck at about 70 yards. He jumped a bit and trotted about 30 yards and laid down where I couldn’t see him. Not hunched but definitely was hit. What felt like an eternity, but was probably only a couple of minutes later he gets up and half trots half walks 100 ish yards into the trees. We went to the point where he laid down and there was a couple pools of blood. I’ll post them. There’s some bubbles and it doesn’t stink. We’re backing out for now, getting permission for the adjacent property, and in the meantime trying to deal with the knots in our stomachs. What are your thoughts? I’m not feeling super confident.
Backing out was a good move probably. Looks kind of watery to me, but that's a good bit of blood. Give it a couple hours and at least try to find more blood. If it was a pure muscle hit, blood trail could Peter out and it may be worth putting a dog on it. Are tracking dogs allowed there? Above all else go slow and make every effort to recover. If you can get a dog on him, earlier the better and don't stomp up the area if you go the dog route.
Hard to say, but that is a good bit of blood in one spot. Sounds like he's stressed. I'd be confident, but give him plenty of time, so you don't push him. Good luck. Looking forward to an update.
Nothing for me this morning. Saw two unknown but they bolted and never stopped for me to get a look at them. Try again tomorrow afternoon. Good luck everyone. Off to boys basketball!
