    that's awful, snuff.

    prayer up.

I'm getting to the age where I am starting to think about things like that, or like what happened to @virginiashadow and how often I'm deep in the woods all by myself with no cell signal, hanging my 220lb rear end from strings 20' up a tree...

yeah, I've never had good luck with those. I think they suck. I like 'em as hand warmers in a pocket, but never had any success in my boots.

I am 6-1, 220-230 and do not skip leg day.
...well, I skip most days, but my calves are still huge. Carryover from catching in baseball and BMX/mountain biking.

I bought those last year, tried them out for first time a couple weeks ago, they worked pretty good but my calves are too big for them. My feet stayed warm but they were not comfortable to wear for an extended sit. Super tight on my legs. Plus, I am not short and they went up all the way into my leg pit (is that a thing?) behind my knee. So they are made for tall, lanky guys.

having met @virginiashadow ...kind of doubt they will fit him.

Yup ruger .44 carbine. I almost took the .30-30 win lever, but this girl had served me well, is light and a (imho) a better brush gun.

Well, we did see winter this year, even if it was but for a few hrs.

Snow on the smoker, next to the lemon tree.

Been set up since 45 minutes before daylight. It was 18 degrees when I left the house. I’ve only seen a squirrel so far.

First time I’ve been willing to take my hands out of my pockets. I need heavier camo.

I’m too old for this crap.

Oh man big calves all my life my calves have been huge and rock solid. One reason I was an excellent soccer goalie. I grew up walking, hiking and working. I moved to hill country , camp is hill country. Made life a challenge for womans fashion . No fancy high boots for me and knee highs had to be rolled down. Fishing waders were a no go. If the boot fit my calve the tops had to be folded and belted and the feet needed a couple of wool socks. Never liked dresses, ppl actual commented on my calves and womans jeans are not made for big calves.
All that said would not have changed a thing . My legs saved me from , well 3 attacks in my life.

I guess that will about do it for this sit. I heard chasing three times but the only deer I saw was a fork horn that walked by at 20 yards.

It has warmed up to 29 but I’m chilled and I’m looking forward to the recliner and wood stove.

I am up. In the saddle again. Setting up is getting easier the more I do it, and the less hurry I am in

Well after last nights "bust", I didn't get much on cam until very late. I'm thinking of going to the ladderstand right where I believe they popped out. A WNW light breeze and very sunny skies might get me close enough before season end. I actually think they may have been out infront of that stand eating berry leaves way before close. Too far away for me to get a good sight in the low light. I had left the binos home. I basically just saw a dark spot on the edge of laneway.
    Good luck guys.
