I checked garden cam when feeding chicks. Blew up! 66 pics last night doe have started herding with fawns and just one 4 pt.. The clover is getting dug up and that plot is a nice secluded area surrounded by trees and lower than the 2 ridges. I just got done on first cut of buck. Steaks and burger and neck is in crock pot for pulled BBQ sandwhiches. Tomorrow it will be lots of jerky strips to marinade. The pics show them in late afternoon during season so it will be a afternoon hunt for a doe. I can hang her a while before getting her in for sausage. Luck willing. My time just got hit because I'd planned on not doing X mas eve. That changed Thanksgiving with an Oh BTW we changed our minds , thanks. So I have a ton to do that wasn't going to be done. Then I have the cancer on my nose and ? That will be assested on the 11th and surgery scheduled who knows when maybe before Christmas.
Sitting over the top of a small food plot about 150 yds from my house hopefully the deer will show up. About 20 day away from the start of the rut.
Nothing for me tonight but some cold hands and feet. Have to go back to work tomorrow after being off for 2 weeks, might hit the blind in the morning before the return to misery.
I didn’t see a deer but that didn’t surprise me. The last afternoon sit nothing moved there. It’s a morning spot so I have high hopes for tomorrow.
Nothing for Sara on our NJ trip. We saw zero deer Friday and were busted by a Doe Saturday. It's very cold but we will try some VT crossbow hunting at the food plot this week, blind and buddy heater will be necessary. 5pt and some slick heads have been moving through so we are going to try our luck. Starting next Saturday, the 7th, I'll be muzzleloader hunting for a Doe in the hills.
I understand what you're saying. At 67, I just can't tolerate the cold anything like I could when I was younger. When I was in my late 40's I hunted the Edmonton Bow Zone in Alberta Canada 5 years in a row. Talk about cold, try hunting in Canada in the month of November. On one particular hunt, temps got down to -25F with the wind chill. It was so cold I had to call my guide to come pick me up from my stand. This was a $5000 hunt, so I didn't make that decision easily. It was scary cold! I look back on those hunts and just shake my head.
Could have shot 2 different does 10 yards from the blind but each one kept looking back, but.... no bucks following. I have them following on camera a bunch this week, so I really thought one was coming, but no luck. I did hear one grunt. He may have had a doe locked down in the thick stuff. Wouldn't come out to my grunts or bleats. Sent from my SM-S908U using Bowhunting.com Forums mobile app
