Last day of the season for me. Sitting in climber with bow, hoping a nice buck will come through. Nothing so far, been about an hour now. Very quiet, I’ll have to be really careful moving if something shows up. But doe bleats should be carrying well.
Ive been hunkered down since gun season. Kind of taking a break from my phone as well. Its been very hard on the wife with the kids and pets. Trying to give her some help and ease up a bit. I did make it out for the afternoon yesterday in the freezing snow and had a great hunt. I pushed in a little further and it worked against me because of the bucks bumping the does into my downwind. Overall i saw 14 deer at one time. 2 were bruiser bucks. I was frozen to the side of my tree though because all of the mature does were like sherlock holmes’s. They never pinned me but knew someone was somewhere. Code of silence camo blends in so well late season. I had a few does look right up at me and look away. I was setup to shoot a trail leading to the cut corn on the neighbors. Which was the right call. Right at endnof shooting time i counted all 14 of the deer i saw previously out there along with 3 coyotes. The deer didnt even seem phased by them. Might make it out again this evening after i help out around the house. Good luck if you are still grinding and congrats if you have killed!
Its cold as heck. Heading in soon. This property has like 3/4ths a mile of private fields that run the south end of the public. Going to take my time and try to cut tracks from where they exited the fields this morning. Snow is frozen and should give up some clues.
I’m warming up in the truck. This afternoon might be my last sit for a couple of weeks at least. I’m going back to where I killed the big eight, why not? Wind is perfect for it again. I think if anything happens, it’ll be in the last half hour. Good luck all!
Back up for the afternoon at the upper farm. There’s 3 shooters here and I’m hoping one of them shows up before last light. Perfect West wind for this stand. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I’ve been walking for the past 3 hrs only went a mile did a big loop on the property. Snow is crunchy here there are random tracks through out the woods. I dressed lighter than normal for this weather because I was walking will see how long I can hold out.
Heading to the blind. It's flipping cold..... but a big boy day lighted this morning. I'm trying to catch him coming back from bedding. Sent from my SM-S908U using Bowhunting.com Forums mobile app
I’m finally back in a tree. My daughter and her husband brought my youngest granddaughter for a two day visit. I just had to be the two days that were the peak of the new moon. Oh well. The last time I sat this area was two mornings ago on the field edge. I watched 15 does travel through the thick woods behind me. I came in this afternoon, grabbed my climber and found their trail. I’m set up and ready for them, but I don’t really expect to see them until tomorrow morning.
