Saw a fawn early tonight and at 5 minutes remaining, a little buck came out.

Thought with the cold and snow there would be a lot more in the field.

Had three does come in with about 15 minutes left. Got busted trying to get to draw, 40 yard shot from the ground. Needed about 5
More seconds to settle the pin and I would have shot. Story of the season, close or miss when I do get a shot.

This did not happen. Got together with some old high school buddies in town for Thanksgiving at the local meat raffle. Came away with $50 worth of meat from the local meat market.

We will see if I get out tomorrow. Same temps but I do have a rare Monday off. Makes doing something on a Sunday that much better.

Thanks, I have made a more concentrated effort to scout my way into spots, especially for afternoon hunts. It is part of the process of teaching my boys how to read sign and find the deer, tough to do on highly pressured public land. But, it has paid off with plenty of deer sightings and an opportunities. I have no one to blame but myself for the misses. If there has been an upside to that, I think the boys realize I mean it when I say you have to be consistently practicing to be a good shot.

Luckily with the cold temps the wind has joined in the fun, miserable outside.

Finally light enough to check in. I'm up on a ridge again. I doubt I'll see any action, but it is chilly out. 25 here with little wind from west. Good luck!

Little warmer this morning at 22 degrees. Turkeys are starting to call. I must have seen 40 last evening. Good luck this morning.

I want to thank Milwaukee for the heated gear.
Just now saw two little does being followed by a little eight pointer.
it’s damn cold out here, man!

I have never seen the lake freeze up so fast, not capped yet but nights below zero and highs in the low teen will do that. Time to ice fish.

Haven’t seen anything since the spike at 8:30. Wind is really picking up. I’m giving it another 15 minutes.

Only one lone doe, a bobcat up close and personal, and, of course, squirrels. Back home now and I'm about to go find a Christmas tree for our first Christmas in our new home.

stuck at work 7-7pm today ... 14 deg. when I pulled in ... waited till it warmed to 18 deg. to shoot the bow several shots, all is still good .... hopefully I'll be back out come next Fri. .. I just hope the w/sw wind outlook holds true, the location I want to hunt has one of my cams close by, and I want to pull it for the season.. however, it has to be a s/sw/w wind to hunt the spot and this far out the forecast never holds .. ...
