No deer sighted this afternoon. I’ll give it a shot in the morning. Maybe it’s a morning spot.

Gun season definitely has the deer rattled and movement is slow. Even though my son and I were the only ones hunting this 560 acres there was a lot of hunting activity around it.

Just after 5 I heard what sounded like a pretty weak grunt
    Then footsteps
Then a doe at half pace with a buck chasing her, had him at 40 but no shot
Was a pretty exciting 30 minutes

20 minutes to legal light, here comes a guy crossing a lumber company tract (98% sure he's trespassing)...at least he veered toward the Hmong guys further south of me.

Didn't go to the big Smokey mtns, I think it's best to baby the knee for A few weeks. Sitting in hardwood near a ridge in the Uwharrie (baby) mtns.

    Good luck!

I’m in, probably wasting my time. Shouldn’t hunt this spot if I can’t get in early. Super crunchy here, seat was frozen so that made a bunch of noise besides. Very few tracks in here. I know the deer are in here it’s just a matter of them moving along the edge. Good luck this morning.

Any idea how to free it up?

That is one of the saddest stories I’ve ever heard! Love and prayers to the family

After what happened to me I get so pissed off of with people not protecting themselves. I was not gonna climb my tree until I could use my lifeline. It’s not worth it.

Running late this morning, got set up roght before legal light. Already had a small four point cruise by at 60. My son is sitting on the ground about 100 yards east of me.

Deer must not be moving or everyone ate too much. Haven’t heard a shot so far.

It’s in the 20s here too Tony. Feels like 17 and I’m hunting. Without Prednisone. :whip:

I’ve seen 15 does so far but all of them were behind me in the thick cover.

    Gonna have to change strategies.
