Back up for the afternoon sit. I didn’t see a deer in this spot yesterday. Hopefully, history doesn’t repeat itself today.

Well that happened fast. A spike was chasing a doe, followed by an 8 point who was followed by a big 8 with an eye guard. I tried to get him to stop the second time by but he acted like he never heard me. He ended up getting her out in the field 75 yards from me and then she left going away from me. I hope she brings him back.

In a new set. Part of the farm I've never hunted before. Very thick on here with just a few openings. Freshened scrapes all around and some fresh rubs too. Good luck everyone.

    I'm a very good mom.
Son got meat doe at camp alone . Called he can't gut it barely got it in truck. Gets it here and I slide it into Gator to go gut it away from everything. Get it back and help load her up again...lol

Was sitting with the .35 Rem last evening. Had a dandy buck come thru after a doe. He was a super wide 8 i think. Didn't have a decent rest on that side of my stand, and it was 230 yards which would have been a poke, there was no way I was taking a less than perfect shot and messing it up. With a good rest I would've done it. But no way I'm gonna set myself up for a big disappointment like that, so he walked. Supposed to get some snow tonight, hopefully he's back tomorrow morning. It would be almost as fun to shoot a buck with the Marlin as with my bow at this point.

Nothing again for me. At least I am figuring out which wind direction they move best, tonight wasn’t one of them

My son has returned home today he has the week off and he will be hunting with dad on Saturday 11/30/24 for rifle season. So I’ll be carrying a rifle I have 2 doe tags and he has a buck tag and a doe tag.

I sat just three hours today, saw nothing. Spooked one on my way out along the pipeline. Things have really fallen off with the activity. I swear, I think the best rut activity in my area is that last week of October, then it drops quickly after that first week of Nov. I see it every year in my woods. I won't give up yet though.

REALLY wish I had some food on our place. Muzzle loader season opens for a few weeks this next weekend. Might give it a try. I’ve never been with one.

Wasn’t planning on hunting this weekend. But, my youngest begged me to take him out this evening and skip wrestling practice. Kind of hard to say no when he took first place in his weight class yesterday. 2 for 2 in first place finishes so far this season.

We tried a new spot, didn’t see anything. I decided to stay off the forum and focus on time with him.

Pulled a cam and found out the buck I missed on 11/08 went by this cam on 11/06. This cam is about a mile from where I missed him on 11/08.

Just a single Doe at 25yds for me this afternoon. I'll be back to NJ Thanksgiving weekend. The mission will be to get Sara her first deer. Then back to VT for a week of archery and then 9 days ofMuzzleloader or archery. It's allabout Does in VT.

I won't be back to NJ to hunt for myself until January.
