Didn't see squat yesterday...after walking out of the woods and heading home, I nearly picked up a double that dated across the road 1/4 mile from where I sat.

Congrats to those who had success and good luck to those out today.

My body felt like I got hit by a truck last night, still sore this morning. I'll be smoking turkey today, so I won't be out, but if something walks into the backyard...accidents happen.

Busy weekend chasing kids sports, having birthdays, and smoking a pork shoulder.

Can’t wait to get to the woods!!

Going to scout for our managed hunt tomorrow.

good luck to all out today ... got to get the buck to the processors today .. I'd cut it up it myself, but its going to warm to the 50's early this week and not till later in the week will temps drop and I'm not letting him hang with it getting that warm (drats).. so off to the processors it will go.. I hate paying for it, but this is what happens when work beckons ...

No hunting on Sunday here. Got a picture of a deer under my stand this morning. Was spending yesterday with my wife, we were taking the dogs outside to do their thing. When we walked to the tree line of our yard a doe and buck went cruising by us. A few minutes later I get a picture sent to me from my camera at my stand about 75 yards away of the deer going through. I am putting in my time, but I always seem to be at the wrong place. Very frustrating. I miss Kansas.

Getting ready to start processing the doe from last night. I haven’t cut up my own deer since I can remember. My mechanic gave me some burgers he made last year over the summer they were outstanding. He gets what’s called burnt end from a local place and grinds them in with deer meat. I got 30lbs of burnt ends to mix in with my deer. I’m going to grind the whole deer beside inners and back straps. Beers cold time to get to work. Good luck out there.

    Good action this morning.

There must be a doe in heat. I watched 3 bucks working the same area of bedding. None close enough to shoot.
