Snow on the ground is super crunchy, bad day to be going in late. Will be in at first light. Good luck out there.

Crisp morning heated vest was a good call with a steady ~5kt breeze. Saw deer in the yard at home at sunrise till 10:30 yesterday and then 30 minutes before sunset. Hopefully am opportunity today.

Appears the turkeys were back, I noticed a lot of scratching...no branches and too small for scrapes.

Have a good day and let's be careful out there today.

The wife is heading out to St. Louis, MO in a few minutes to attend a Terrain Magazine outdoor expo for a couple of days.

My son will be headed home to Texas at the same time, so I’ll have the house to myself for a couple of days.

My son sure hunted hard for no more deer than he saw. He did have his chances though. At least he’s not going home empty handed. He has the doe he killed and most of the meat from the buck I killed.

I wanted to hunt this morning since it turned out to be the best morning so far weather wise, but I wanted to be here when they left.

I’ll be back out this afternoon.

Been in since 0530. Rain stopped in the middle of the night. Light wind that's good for me. No deer seen yet.

I am in a different spot with the 6.5 this morning. If I get any opportunity I may take it, been too long since I dropped something and never with a rifle! Good luck out there!

I'm up in here. A little late but I was hoping this drizzle would stop before I came in. It's less but I'm still probably gonna get wet. Got a NW wind so I'm hunting my favorite stand. I got a text last night from the CO, who also hunts this property with me and who killed a really nice buck a few weeks ago, wanting to know if I had killed anything yet. I told him I hadn't. He told me about a few good ones he had gotten on camera and told me to go ahead and hunt HIS stands if I wanted. I thought that was a great gesture on his part. Good luck all!

Pretty exciting morning so far as I was walking in slowly caught movement coming towards me thought it was a doe as it got closer was a 4pt. He got to about 5 yards from me, then behind him was another deer 6 or 8pt couldn’t get a clean look at him he went down over the hill. Deer tracks everywhere and bear print where I parked my truck. Foggy here. F13E9ED7-1775-497A-82A5-5106C1731EE4.jpeg A8D9B0A8-0781-4F69-8C1B-73DAB236EA91.jpeg
