I’m up, might change my name to “SapBack08” here’s my view, not looking for a lot of deer just the right one! Good luck everyone!
Im up! Lot colder and a good wind, actually blowing pretty hard. Doing something i hardly ever do. Sitting in a tree right on the edge of a large winter wheat field. At least i can see along ways tonight and hopefully narrow down movement.
A little hair of the dog …. Mid 30s and no wind. Let’s see if I can get out of my own head. Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
I'm usually mover but I have a bee in my bonnet with the new blind. They've even showing so close to legal hours, the wind is perfect for it and my Gosh the rubs/ scrapes. Bad weathers headed in and this is my last try before a heavy hard wind switch. Send me luck
Gentlemen and ladies as well. I'm tired. The amount of effort this year was crazy, not to mention my access is straight up this mountain 400 feet in a ditch. I've never killed a NC buck this big even with rifle, so it is a nice welcome home. I actually was full draw on that buck at 7 am but too much between us, so I let down, bumped the release and sent an arrow into a log. He bounds off and I'm like, that was it! Blew the best shot at him. An hour later chasing behind me over the hill. Spot the doe and then the rack behind her. She led him toward me and was even with my stand when he committed. Along with a couple 8s, couple of forkies, a six and 2 or 3 more does. Doe goes by and he's almost there, but not having the other bucks being there, turns to chase off a forkie. Stopped broadside at 18 and I put the best shot I could on him. The rest is history. I appreciate the congrats. I'm taking a break! Now go kill!
Doe bedded 30ydsfrom my truck as I got ready. She never moved. Still there as I walked off. Two Doe at 30yds right now.
