Heading out to do an afternoon/evening hunt, despite the utterly miserable weather we're getting here in SE Pa. I figure if I don't go out, it'll be the one day my target buck comes through my area while it's light.
getting ready for work, its snowing pretty good here now .. wish I was out (drats), suppose to turn to rain this late afternoon though .. I hate hunting the Saturday after the gun opener, the place will still be busy, I'll be in the archery/waterfowl only area however, Blaze Orn. is still required while bowhunting when any deer 'gun/ML' season is open ... may just do a PM sit and try to be settled in by 12-1pm and the waterfowl guys will be leaving then so it will be quiet out in the marshes.. hopefully the predicted wind stays N/NW-W/NW for Sat. .. ..
Had an eventful sit this am, 10 doe and 2 small bucks. Just got back home, gonna fuel up and head back out. Wind was ripping , took advantage of it and cleaned out a pine tree. It’s the wrong type of tree in the right spot, it’s where I saw a big ghost buck last time out. Hope lightning strikes 2x, if nothing else I’ll be covered in sap by the end of the sit hahaha
Congrats LC and Eric! Very nice bucks. I’m still getting more coyotes than deer on camera and the only deer on camera have been fawns. Quite discouraging. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Stayed in the blind till 11 got out and the doe from the morning were back feeding in the neighbors yard. Home having lunch then off to another spot.
It is perfect big buck weather today in our area, out looking for those last does, I had some solid movement this morning on camera down in MD. Everytime I get out of the car today for work I’m mad I’m not hunting lol!!
