My son and I are finally set up and ready to kill on the new 560 acres.

I have Thumper with me so drawing a bow won’t be a problem.

I do love this gun. Shoulder mounted light artillery reporting for duty.

The hard heads been down at camp trying to hunt with a buddy. He thought he shot a doe but his buddy had left. Called me but I had to travel to return dogs and car. Long and short they looked next morning buddy came back. it was a clean miss. He has another appointment with Dr in a week. Sooner if he doesn't behave. He hates the ground sits near cabin.
I Still haven't got new car yet so test drove again yesterday. Really liked the Telluride prestige. More so over the Palisade blackout I drove earlier in August and again yesterday. Really need to get hubby to decide. Me I don't care as long as it has room for the kayak and Can tarp it up enough to slide a deer in it at camp. Lol the sales guy flipped when I said I wished the back and back of seats were vinyl not cloth for that.
I can tell you the Telluride sports model with a 4 in it. COMPLETELY SUCKS ON STEEP HILLS going up and coming down. Sounded like a blender.

This one is an 1895SBL 45-70. If the house were on fire this is the one thing I’d save first. Well, after my wife……… probably.

42 degrees 22 mph wind, not gusts. I don't want to go outside much less hunt.

Major headache today , didn’t even think about going out. Going to try my climber tomorrow late morning. Knee feeling pretty good. Gonna try the area where I had that bump with the buck. The camera I have close to there was blowing up with several bucks and does. Not sure if the activity was from the farmer chopping corn today next to that area. Gonna try anyway tomorrow as long as no headache. I have a dentist appointment in the morning. So that’s why I said late morning. Archery ends Friday. 2 doe tags to fill. If not the orange army starts Saturday. I guess I’ll join them.
    Good luck killers

Snow is coming Thursday and or Friday morning. Hmm. Usually the first snow fall is around Halloween to first week of November.

Nothing for me. I picked the wrong side of swamp. Could hear alot of deer moving around on the other side. All right at last 30 minutes.

Been sulking lately and started reminiscing with past kills. My last 2021 125" 9 point and 2017 10 with a small kicker making it an 11 for 149 4/8.

Put the 2017 skull cap in the 2021 euro and was surprised at how well the pedicles and brows lined up, tried to get a pic lining them up. Believe them both to be 3 1/2, but shows the difference roughly 25" of antler makes.

Was curious on orignal score so looked up and remeasured G1's, had 1/8 and 2/8 differences from original score in contest. Green score/30 day wait? Not sure never remeasured a deer after a month wait.

Boredom and self pity made the pic happen

Actually, might not be a difference between G1 measurements, measured from the inside of the rack not the outside so curvature could have had differences.

Either way. I just need to kill a deer and stop procrastinating.

Up extra early this morning can’t sleep for some reason. Coffee is brewing, looks like I’ll be in the woods extra early. Taking my folding chair I have a good idea where I want to go. Good luck out there this morning.
