I use one in a AR platform and it’s a shooter, killed many deer with it. Flat shooting for a straight wall and has some knockdown power. Recoil is a dream also. I just use Winchester factory ammo, power point and the soft points. 150gr

I was thinking using the 180gr'ers for where its use would be.. heck Ive got rifles, just cant use 'em on state land cause of restrictions of calibers, thus the .350 .. still got the ML and Mossberg 12ga. rifled bbl Slugster too and are legal on state lands.. I havnt gun hunted deer in 11 yrs, bow only since .. ... thinking Bolt Action or even a good single shot, I had one of the 12 ga. heavy bbl single shots years back, and it was a great shooter

IMG_4092.jpeg Ive got a long winded update to my doe. Ill try to shorten it up. I knew the angle was steep. She was 6 or 7 yds from base of tree and i was 20+ ft up. She was slightly quartered to. Her action after the shot told me it wasnt what we all hope for. The double lung or single lung/heart. Definitely exited the brisket. All the white hair on arrow told me that. Bright blood with little to no bubbles. I thought id find her in 100 yds. Thought it would be fun to put the pup on her 4th blood trail and bring the wife and boy along to. Long story short. Dog takes off and is on it in no time. We are running behind her. She gets a little out of sight when i dropped her 30’ check cord. I let her go because she seemed to be on it. We kept following. Bright red blood all over. Back and forth. After about 100 yds of following her i finally heeled her so i had better control as it was getting too chaotic. When she came running back to me my jaw dropped. She was absolutely covered in blood. She must have gashed her eye open on barbed wire and blood was pouring from her face. Poor thing couldnt even see. I tried to make sense of all the blood while my wife took the boy and dog back to the truck. Dog will probably need a few stitches. After 5-1/2 hrs i called it. The good thing is i think i sorted out the blood. I had to get the dog attended to though. She is cut pretty bad. Talk about a tainted crime scene! Im going to go back tomorrow morning with a fresh mind and daylight. Wow. Talk about a mind boggling event.
Edit: wife just sent me this pic. She did a great job it looked way worse than this. Cleaned it up good and packed it with triple antibiotic to stop the bleeding. IMG_4092.jpeg

Congrats to the killers today! I didn’t hunt today with two of my three boys having a wrestling tournament today. I was hoping to get out with my youngest this afternoon bht we didn’t get home in time. On the bright side, he took first place in his weight class today and set himself up as the front runner for the triple crown for the season.
