Just shot a doe at like 8yds. Decided not to go to set stand and went with my gut so switched to saddle last minute. I had to relieve my itch. I thought i had it on her good tight behind front shoulder but it was kind of extreme angle and i may have pulled it when i shot. Arrow blew through her but she ran off and acted gut hit. Ill give her some time then go get the k9. Also had a forkie under me the whole time i put my set up . Waiting for a 200” buck now. Or a 125” whichever comes first.

Little 6 and long beam showed up so far. All beams, no tines, I know there’s a nice 8 around here somewhere though.

That's some serious dedication! Good luck in that big buck state.

Very quiet for first day of gun season. I heard one shot right after daylight and that's it.

Only 2 fawns so far. Today and tomorrow is youth gun season. I’ve heard about 7 shots so far. Maybe they’ll push something to me.

Just ket a decent 120” ish 10pt go. He snuck in on me and as he was going away he looked bigger. I called him back in and he just didnt quite cut the mustard. Cool encounter though!

Well my morning has gone to crap. Shot this guy, dropped him as I was trying to get down to put a second shot in him he took off. No blood, back at the house cooling off. Going back out in a few to try and find him.

He dropped like a partial spine shot or the arrow hitting a leg?

Thermals shifted and this spot is done for. Tear down, grab coyote if he's close by, and make a move on a big fella that walked by my camera up top earlier. Need to make the move now. He may not hang around long. He was about 2 hours behind the does, nose to ground.
