Haha. I wish it were that easy! I legitimately can’t shoot in the 95% of the stuff at all. Even with a rifle. Maybe a gun without a sight? Can’t even walk in it well. Stalk the edges and see if they are bedded there maybe but that’s nearly impossible with the thigh high loud ass swamp grass.

Might sneak into one of the northern pockets when I come back next week with my bow. Take some pics to show what I’m working with.

Well that’s put an end to it. It was almost like being on public land. Someone’s cows got out and ended up under my tree stand. Farmer came and was here 45min trying to get them to follow him but they wouldn’t. Eventually he got them following and he went towards where they were bedding. I would guess the deer if they were bedded down just there have been pushed further away.

Had another big ol nanny come into 50 yds. She just milled atound and i had a feeling she may be a problem. I lost sight of her in the undergrowth and eventually she either saw me move or caught a whiff cause she pegged me. Time to get down i changed my mind on leaving and was going to sit this spot the whole day but wind changed NW to NE and it wont work here. Hopefully get set back up soon.

In the last hour I've had two different 8pt go through dogging does. Neither was in range and they definitely were ignoring any call I used.

In the gypsy blind. First time since all leaves have fallen. An easy view of farmers field now. Ridge line, gully and sanctuary slashing.
Last day of early bow, gun opens in the morning

5 just came out of the pine. Walking woods edge to gully. A buck could chase them back, I have time.

You know it’s been a long day when your mind/eyes start playing tricks on you. I’ve looked at these white swamp reeds 100+ times today and now every time I see them… “are those tines”?

Saw a bunch tonight, just not what I wanted.

I'll be in a tree tomorrow morning if the wind is as predicted....with a shotgun- 00 buck
