EHD?...not sure where you are. Just died?...I'd look very carefully. Do some detective work. Some nice mass there Adam. Great shot. Snuff - I like being near cover and the does right now. Gun season takes away a lot of the excitement. English- hope you get that bruiser. In a blind. Gonna take a miracle to see a big buck.
Finally got a bar of service. What a morning. Went to leave battery dead in truck. Jack with that for about 20 min. Miss my exit and its 15 or so mi before you can turn around. All that put me dang near an hour behind. Get to my tree about 10min after shooting light. As im wrapping first stick around tree i hear something coming at me. Ended up having a stare of with id say a 125-130” 8pt. Not the bigger one im in here for though but almost as big. He finally turned and trotted off. Got set up and coyote comes in quick. I Shoot and i guess i hit and broke its leg when it spun. He made it out of sight but he wasnt moving good or fast. Then this girl came in about 9am. Nothing with her. Another very slow deer day. Think im giving it until 2 then heading home. Back killing me.
Central Illinois. Never seen or heard of a bout of EHD in the area. Could be though. Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
Maybe. Unlikely though. Closest road is quite a ways away. Always possible though. Never seen anything like it. Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
Hour 7 on the stand… sunshine on the back and no action makes Jake very sleepy. Beauty of a day though. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Heading out in a few. Bringing one of my 8 year old boys with me. Hopefully he'll be my good luck charm! Sent from my SM-S908U using Bowhunting.com Forums mobile app
Thanks for all the congrats everyone! That was seriously the best hunt I’ve ever been on. About 8:30 I caught movement on the hill infront of me and it ended up being a hot doe with a really nice six locked onto her, multiple bucks and does moving around on the hill as well. Eventually the big 6 and the hot doe worked down towards me but stayed in the thick stuff about 60-75 yards way, kept loosing them and then they would pop back up, multiple bucks came in trying to get the doe and the big 6 would chase them off, several times it looked like he was going to come towards me, but then he would turn and go back to the doe. After awhile this 4pt started working his way to the doe and the big 6 did the same thing, chased him off and this buck ended up walking by me at 20 yards and I couldn’t pass it up! He piled up after 50 yards in sight, and then of course the big boy came over to check out all the noise, he circled around me in the thick stuff and stood there 5 yards from my dead buck! It was such and incredible hunt! Here is the link to the kill shot on YouTube And don’t worry Todd, I didn’t forget about you!
