I saw my target buck only one time in 38 sits (34 deer), so far this season. Was on Halloween. But, he was with two doe at about 60-65 yards. I said quite a while ago, I'd be happy just to lay eyes on him. It was a very brief view, but there was no mistaking his rack, it stuck out like a sore thumb.

There are actually 2 other guys who are aware of this buck, but I've been the only one lucky enough to see him, other than on cam. There's a brand new scrape with a rub 15 feet away that wasn't there yesterday, possibly from him.

Its that time of the year. Either you see nothing, or every deer in the area runs by you. Just keep at it!

Sure makes for a long season. I was saying the same thing if I could just see him in person. The good thing is it has confirmed where I thought he was bedding but unfortunately it’s on another property by 2-300yds so it kinda limits what I can do. I’m basically stuck with the stand I’m in. Rifle season starts on Saturday so it’s going to be a long 10 days to see if he survives. Hope you catch up with your guy!!

Sat from 1:00pm-5:30pm today and saw four yearlings traveling together. They were running straight towards my blind, then stopped at 20 feet and stared at me for a brief time. There was nobody else hunting this area (no cars at the parking area), so I think the running was just them having fun. I've seen this same playful activity on my cam videos before. These close encounters at ground level I've been getting are very cool!

Long day of work, deer were on their feet all day as I was driving around, not getting as cold tonight but it is raining. Hoping that will have it feeling nice and cold tomorrow morning. Cars packed, alarm is set for 3, I’m ready to punch a buck tag in MD tomorrow
