I am hunting on the ground for the last 1 1/2 hours of shooting light. The saddle experiment not what I was hoping for. I have an XOP rubicon hang on enroute to go back to hang on stand with my sticks for my mobile unit.
Just trying to enjoy my 2nd cheese stick and the rest of my crackers and I see a deer bounding toward me 150/200yds away. Then 3 more behind… for sure a buck behind them. Nope. They are in the thick stuff here in front of me now. Maybe the neighbor jumped them. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I'm up. Last 1.5 hours of civility. Gun opens in the morning. Drizzling, almost no wind, & 50* - won't even sit down. The camera caught 3 deer this afternoon. Last chance!
There is a pocket or 2 on the very north property line maybe, but I wouldn’t be “in the cover” just on the outside. The pockets around me highlighted are willows and buckthorn. 0 open woods and very few trees I could get a stand in. Basically forced to hunt the edges. 75% of the time I hear them crashing around in there without seeing them. When they are about to step out I don’t know if it’s a 3pt or a 12pt. My adrenaline spikes way too much to just have a doe/fawn/small one step out haha Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Just seen my target buck in person for the 1st time!! 100-150yds away. No idea if he will make it this way but all this sitting has been worth it to see him in person, it’s a huge boost!!
