You have a knack in mountains and a lot of success in finding deer, and bears, there...surely the M.T. has some topo. I'll keep your loved one in my prayers. You got my number of you ever need an ear. Tony is a good listener too...
Well that was a long day of work… luckily it was windy as crap so I didn’t feel too terrible about not being out. Alarm is set for the morning. Going to be the coldest hunt yet, looking at right under 30 for the low and only getting to 51 for the high!
I will be praying for your family. I have offered before, I would happy to show you a few spots are round Arkansas if you want to make you way down here. We have a longer season than MO. Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
Guys Ive already posted enough about this crap today but this is kind of funny. So that big buck comes in and I don't shoot. 10 min later I look right and a 2.5 yr old good 6 pt is coming in so I get ready. He circles around me so I let out the slack in my saddle to rotate. As I do my leg hits one of the steel cables and I go head over heels off the side of the tree. I was upside down. Launch my bow. All that slack I took out caused me to fall and slam my ribs into the side of the tree. As I sat there wondering what the hell happened my predator brain is worried about that buck. haha. I am dangling there trying to get back on the platform for a couple minutes while that 2.5 yr old could care less that an old dufus is in a tree. He just walks by at 25 yds and pays me no mind. LOL
Sat from noon until dark and saw nothing. But, I did hear a deer blow just before dark. I know it winded me, because a wind shift, which are frequent, sent my odor in that direction.
I just turned 50 in August, have to remember we're not as nimble and spry as we used to be. Tough pill to swallow, but so is a bottle of Ibuprofen
I turn 50 in a month. Ha. Man what a wild season. I got treated to this as I hustled out. If I had a buddy or two I could camp out and hunt this big island for days.
Jeez man… that’s wild. Glad you’re ok. What a season you’ve had so far. Something has to give soon. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
That’s a rough day right there. Ouch! Being upside down in a harness is something you really can’t practice for.
Taking my son to his after school engagement, we saw deer everywhere! Wish I had more free time to hunt.
