Sunnyside!...that sounds freakin awesome. Congratulations on a great buck. Perfect shot.

ALMOST had a shot on a doe tonight from the ground. A fawn and doe came into 40 yards. She never looked in my dirty. She was not close to being downhill. She was looking in the directions of turkeys making immense amount of racket. Either she didn't like the noise or the wind swirled and she caught my scent. Turned around. Heart was racing.

Ended up seeing 5 does and fawns, actually made it out without blowing everything out. Now I know how they react when they get to a new tree stand that I just put up a few hours before. They were checking everything out and hung around along time, half the time down wind. Good sit overall but that may be a morning spot only.

Well over the last 1.5hrs of light I seen 6 does and 5 small bucks. This guy was the biggest. He’s got good potential. Will be back at it in the AM.

Brett - Gimme a call if you want. Glad you're OK.

My season, felt a lot like yours, was averaging probably less than 1 deer seen per sit. Part of the reason I switched it up yesterday and went to the mountains. I saw 3 deer all bucks. All on the military or true mountain crest. No shots, but the first encounter with a great buck at 40, on the ground, got me going. 5 more secs and things would've been very different (I probably still would be botching about hauling that hog off the mountain).

Have a beer. Try a new spot. Buy the IL license. Stop the whining. Kill something. You got this.

Nothing for me. The wind was brutal. Saw 2 does about 200 yards away. No other sightings.

Im under immense stress right now with the health of a loved one and there is nothing I can do to help. So I'm trying to hunt to burn off the stress but I'm a disaster and it's not working. I'm whining too much that's a fact.

1 mile paddle and 1 mile walk right to a spot i scouted last winter and had never hunted there...almost made it work.

    Time to ice.
