I’m out, first time not seeing any in the morning behind the house. I think I might put up a different stand over by where I have seen the big ones, the only downside is that I may have to do a bunch of tree trimming. I will just have to go check it out

I’ve been here since dark. I haven’t been on this property since this time last year.
Haven’t talk to the owner either, who knows what kind of projects and parties they’ve been having over here. But, it is what it is, let’s see what happens.
Wide variety of wind directions forecasted for the next several days. I know every inch of this property and I’m gonna be all over it.
    Good luck!

Why I went for a change of scenery, 2 hrs from home today...hear and deer season overlap...saw a small bear here last year...just seeing bucks(none shootable yet tho).

Here's the last one. Big body for a spike.

Had to take the kids to school this morning and take care of a couple things around the house. Rolling out now, plan is to scout my way into a spot about 250 yards west of where my son killed a buck last weekend.

Im seeing a few deer here and there but can probably count shot opportunities on one hand. Deer i didnt want to shoot. One encounter with a very good buck that i couldnt get on in time and this morning had about 8 deer running frantic out of corn. I thought a big buck may be the culprit but no, it was the blonde coyote. I cant complain i guess. Im seeing stuff. Just slow action wise. No chasing or fighting or any of that

I'm out for lunch. That was the slowest morning I've had since the season began. Just nothing moving at all. Think I'll go to a different stand for the afternoon. By the way, anyone know what this stuff is called. It's probably 10-12 feet tall and the deer love to bed into it. 20241111_110700.jpg

OK I'm a bad mom, for he gets this directly from me. Who shows up all dressed in camo on crutches end of cast covered up in huge wool socks. Back pack and bow. Yes I grabbed the Gator keys, seat pads, cam card, buck and doe urine and got him set up in the new garden blind with a foot stool. He refused the crossbow.
HARD HEAD LIKE MOM, when I had my accident and was in a bed/bathroom order I cried until husband agreed to drive me to a ground blind so I could crawl into seat with bed pillows under my leg. 1 hour before turkey opener. I lasted 2 hrs. after light before pain meds stopped. I'd called in a tresspasser and a fox before realizing what a sitting duck I was. Called for a ride home. He'll out last me and I so truly pray, with profound thanks for his life in mind, he can take 1 of those big bucks. Knowing I'll have a ton of work tonight and tomorrow.

I’m back home, another good sit with 5 deer sighted, 3 doe, the nice buck before daylight and a button buck to end it. Still 0 chasing or even really seeking. Tomorrow I have to work but I’ll be back at it Wednesday morning when it’s supposed to dip down to 29!! Tomorrow’s gonna be a long day!

Just had this 9p run past chasing a doe. They ran all around me and I can still hear him about 100yds away in the trees snort wheeze and grunting. Not bad for 12:30

Slow walked back up to my truck. Bumped a spike. Talked to the wife and she has a full plate running my daughter around tonight so i told her id take our son to a blind this evening. Knowing he wont sit very long i had time to kill. Decided to go check out a 15 acre piece of this property we dont really mess with. Whadaya know. Bumped a very respectable maybe 130” buck laying with a doe. Im set up about 120 yds from where i bumped them. Going to give it couple hrs then climb down to eat and pick up little man.

What’s good boys!! Been busy work and 5 month old. First sit of the year for me! It’s hot and I’m on public land. Expectations are low but it’s good to be in a tree.

I am up over a public land food plot. The beat sign was here for and hour and a half of scouting. North wind, big ridge behind me with a pine thicket in it. I am where the plot pinches down and the pine thicket meets the edge. Tons of tracks and rubs,
Hopefully more than night time sign.

There is a slough edge about 100 yards south, thought I would see decent sign along the edge, but did not.

Hunted a blind farther south all morning…mid afternoon wind shifts allowed me to get up the tree line 90 yards or so further and just got settled.
