Checked cam for son, zero activity all night and morning. Decided to check area stands. 2 are iffy . One being in a new dead ash I just didn't manage to move, 18" diameter so still stable in no wind. Now to the great finds 6 fresh rubs in a E/W straight line 30-50 yrds apart and all on N/W side. This covers 5 stands and 3 blinds 30- 70 yrds from them to N /W. Three of them on 8-10 in diameter trees and one with a brand new scrape. Have any of you seen a scrape made in an open green area no trees near by? I know it's a deer scrape because of the prints. All turkey scratchings are a ways away and way bigger with distinct turkey prints and no nowhere near as deep. I was thinking made during a challenge/ fight?

Yes, I would have shot that buck. He's a giant in my woods. You're fortunate you can let bucks like him walk. I admire you for being so selective.
I went to church too. Headed back in in about 20min. Last sit in NJ this trip. Rain moving in at 1800 so hopefully they feel that coming and get on their feet the last hour of shooting time.

I looked at the calendar in my fridge this morning, it’s full of mandatory family fun events, so this is most likely my last good sit. I’m out of snacks, water, and my headache will not go away. Going to go as long as I can stand it, hoping a mid day buck wants to wander by. But at this point, it’ll be a bad day to be a spike

Me 2 but he’s bedding on the next property so it’s down to him to make a mistake. He gets onto my property about 2-3hrs after dark spends a lot of the night on here then crosses back over about 1hr before light. He’s a smart deer coz I’ve never seen anyone hunt the other property. This is the only time he made a mistake and left during light and that’s what made me put a stand where I sit now. This was 3 weeks ago. I’m doing dark to dark everyday until rifle season opens this Saturday.
