I just had old 1 Eye come by at 30 yards. I heard him coming way before I saw him. He was panting like he was on his last breath. Here’s a picture of him from October. This the first time I’ve ever seen him in person. IMG_5536.jpg

I’m in the backyard blind for a few hours this morning, hopefully one of those bucks will show again. Good luck everyone

Public land is fun sometimes! Just had 2 young guys stalking thru the woods with there bows. No stands. Was going to let them just pass by, but they tried to climb up a leaning to tree about 30 yards away. Had to whistle at them to get them to stop. They heard me and I waved. They proceeded to do a 40 yard circle around me and walk thru the bedding area. So much fun.

Ooooof. Too many refreshments at deer camp. Hungover. Got to the stand an hour late but I’m here. Very very foggy.

    Good luck everyone.

Yesterday morning I got into my natural blind at 5:10am, almost an hour before first light. I'm sitting there in the dark, all settled in when I hear footsteps in the leaves, coming my way. I'm thinking this is a good start to the day, until I see a light! Then I hear two people talking and snapping branches while they're getting closer to my location! I get my light out and point it in their direction, flicking it on and off, on and off, until they stop and go the other direction.
Turns out it was a father and son, as I could hear their voices clearly. Wouldn't you want to teach your son the importance of being quiet going into the woods, hoping to kill a deer??? It's the very first time I had another hunter anywhere near my location. Ahhh, public land, gotta love it.

3pt at 20yds strolled through. Then Big 6, which I would shoot came by at 70yds. Grunted, he turned for about 5yds and then went back the way he was headed.

Sent pics to son of the bucks. Suddenly he decides he'd like to hunt here. I'd rather see him get it before next Saturday than someone else. Besides he's been working so hard for his family and has had limited time to drive all the way to camp to hunt.
Hope one of them show up for him tonight.

Just had this guy walk past following a doe at 15yds. I decided he’s not what I want. I understand people will say they would have shot him but we all have our own criteria of what we want.

Saw a little buck at 930.

Calling it early and heading to church.

Somebody needs to shoot a deer.

    Can't hunt tonight.

it depends where I am hunting. Here in Maine I just hope for anything with an antler. When I am in Kansas the criteria is vastly different

I’m out, nothing else for me. That was another good sit behind the house, I think I might have to get more serious about hunting here lol
