Rain finally quit, skies clearly, a little less than two hours left.

Pulled the chip on one of my non cell cams on the way out today. Been waiting for new bucks to show up and one did. Hope my SIL gets a crack at him next Saturday on gun opener.

Had a Doe come in at last light. By the time she circled around Ai couldn't see my pins, so she lives another day.

After my morning sit, I went back in and saw 4 more deer. That's five for the day, which is a good day in my woods. It was four doe and a small scrub buck. Watched one of the doe drink from the little trickle of a stream that runs through the area. I love watching deer as much as killing them. You learn a lot about them.
I've actually had at least 6 doe in easy bow range, but can't buy a shooter buck.

Don’t know if you guys remember telling you last weekend… had an epic chase go down last Saturday and told my buddy to go to the public just northwest of our place. He finally connected tonight with the rifle.

The back 40 is just a ghost town. All the neighbors are shooting. Just have to keep at it. Can change in an instant.

So close this evening to a brute. He came out of a low thicket(@4:30) and walked about 80 yards upwind of our decoy. I snort wheezed at him and he stopped but kept going. About 30 minutes later he is chasing a doe like a wild man up on top to our right. He got in behind us and stayed close to his bride. Snort wheezed and grunted again and he walked down to us about 50 yards but wouldn’t leave his doe.
Didn’t come home with the big one but had a great time sharing it with my boy. Probably going to be our last hunt this year.
Hope you guys keep at them and the wind blows in your favor!

Got skunked on deer. Easton attempt his first bow kill on a racoon right at last light,
    Shot just over it.

No arrows shot from me. Had some small ones work around but the big boys did not come by where I was hunting today. Back at it tomorrow. I ended up running combine all evening. That hurt to watch a perfect hunting evening slip away.
