Set up for the afternoon. Summer scouting found a community scrape along a field edge, checking it today found five distinct scapes under the tree. @jezz67o is sitting that. I am about 75 yards due east over two other scrapes. Need the wind to doe down a little. 90 minutes of scouting and this was the best sign we found. Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
Sat 5 hrs. Saw 1 doe. Went back to my kayak and ate. While I was eating I heard a noise so I got ready. Cool coyote encounter at 10 yds. No shot. Not gonna lie if that didnt happen to get my blood pumping I probably would have left. I am only 100 yds from my kayak set up to some cover. Have no idea if anything will come in here. Guys have put up alot of ladder stands in here. Might have to abandon this place. Good luck all.
I got down at 10:30 did some scouting and came home. Found some better sign down in the bottom, a scrape and several rubs in the area. I think tomorrow morning I’m gonna hunt the private land I have, this is typically and evening spot because we access it from the ag field and have food plots planted that our stands are on. I’m going to park up top tomorrow morning and find my way down this nasty thick hill side and set up in the swamp. Hoping this guy is still hanging around and makes a mistake
It's been a Killer few days Congrats to EVERYONE. I haven't a chance to go through all but will. Very, very windy today so I'm in catch up and fix mode. Zero on cams and zero in any of the fields for days now. Though the tracks are out there and sure the run away nieghbor had gotten one. I did see one road kill fawn a house down from swamp land. Literally too dangerouse to be in the woods right now, I did do a couple of repairs. Rivers blind which was an unholy mess and on edge of woods. That said, a tree fell on it. Mind you it's 16 feet up. broke the back side roof over hang frame but did not damage the roof. I'll need a chain saw to remove it. An after season project, most weight is on a tree crotch. Raccoons chewed through as well as various rodents. I clean carpet best I could and fixed the walls reinforcing with mesh. Carpet will be pulled , hosedand scubbed in spring Squirrel and mice did a job on my 15+ yr old original cardboard blind. That is basically a gun blind. I repaired and cleaned that as well. There are a few huge trees that are snapped off and close to that blind. Trails in and out a complete mess. May be out in the morning looking for a doe, wind willing.
Climbed down to stretch and what not. Took my big jacket off. It is warm. Got this when I got back up in the tree… we keep going. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Light for the next two hours. Hopefully, that will inspire someto come freshen up scrapes during the last hour. Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
I'm in a NJ tree. 70, sunny and windy. Looking for a Buck, except tomorrow morning when I'm at the County Park I'll also shoot a Doe or two. There is a 130 around here, hopefully he comes by this weekend. Good Luck everyone!
I'm up. Let's see if I can join in on the spilling of blood tonight. Both doe and buck on the menu. Sent from my SM-S908U using Bowhunting.com Forums mobile app
Well...no buck. We tracked great blood for 250 yards and then the arrow broke off, leaving about 10" of shaft and broadhead in him. He dripped blood for another 200 yards before bedding down. No sign after that. All the local dogs are busy, so I'm going to be the guy who calls a drone. They'll be out around 6:30. Shot was 28 yards from the ground. He was probably 6 feet lower than me in elevation. Slightest quarter away. I hit high front lung and stuck it in the opposite shoulder.
That is an awesome buck with a great story to go with it. Congrats! Sent from my SM-N975U1 using Tapatalk
Couple of fawns poking around at 50. Watching them and I noticed a real nice scrape under a willow in the swamp grass at 55yds. Must be real new cause I haven’t seen it before… maybe I’m just blind. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
