Lol! You inspired me. I left my stuff in the tree and silently left. About 600 yds back to my kayak I realized I left my truck keys in my pack. Ha. Back at it tomorrow. Hoping those does come back by after sunrise and something is following...
Everyone thank you for the congratulations, again. It has been a freaking amazing year with 3 does down and now 2 4.5+ yeah old bucks. When I finally came to realization and pulled down my stand set I went up to this buck and sat on a log, thinking, reminiscing, and just taking in everything around me. It’s been forever since I just slowed down after a kill, it’s something that I needed as a hunter and as a person. So I guess that this post hopefully serves as a reminder to slow down, take in everything, take every sit as it’d be your last, and as much as a season is beating you down just be thankful that you’re still able to have a season. Now, everyone brush everything off and go out on November 8th and freaking kill!
I’ll be out in the morning! Mid 60s here this morning, and 61 now, supposed to be close to 40 in the AM. I’ll be set up at the edge of some doe bedding I’ve never sat before, been having consistent doe movement on the cam with some sporadic bucks. Most of the bucks have been evenings, but I can only hunt the morning until about mid day. The camera is facing into the bedding area, I’ll be positioned where I should be able to see and hopefully shoot anything traveling slightly down wind of the bedding! Going to be an early 2:45 wake up call!
I left all my **** in the tree. All of it. Even the jacket and bibs. It’s getting sketchier and sketchier getting in and out of that stand. The water keeps getting higher and higher. Need to start taking it very slow. Numerous times almost went over my knee highs tonight. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Vac. #2 starts tomorrow, I'll be out in the PM (n/nw winds).... hopefully the bucks will be moving, as they sure were not last week .... not a lot of northerlies forecast (drats) and I want some S/SW-sw/w for two of my fav. spots, havnt been there this season yet ......
Haha! man we should really get our $hit together. This kind of stuff should only happen early season.
Any of you guys ever gutted a deer and got little bean looking things in a tube/vein lined along the inside spine? Little white grainy bumps in them?
Don't get too excited. My retarded season continues. I shot the wrong buck. But at least I recovered him. Details in a bit
